Runemagick presents third and final single for their upcoming double album “After Chaos: Nocturnal Vigil” called “Urðr’s Cosmic Weave”!

“Urðr’s Cosmic Weave” moves deeper into the journey of “After Chaos: Nocturnal Vigil”. By this point, the initial collapse of “After Chaos” has passed and the stillness of “The Nocturnal Vigil” has opened another kind of awareness. The perspective begins to widen, from what remains within us to the larger weave of forces, connections, actions and consequences that exist far beyond the individual.

The song is connected to Eihwaz (ᛇ), a rune I associate here with the hidden weave and the structures that connect different states of existence. Urðr is also important to the vision, but I don’t approach the cosmic weave as a fixed destiny where everything has already been decided. I see it more as an immense and constantly unfolding network of relationships, where every movement touches something else while the whole remains far beyond our ability to fully comprehend it.

That idea is closely connected to the runic and animistic current running through the entire album. The runes are not used as decoration or treated as fixed definitions. I experience them more as living forces within a world that is itself alive, where visible forms are only part of something much larger. In “Urðr’s Cosmic Weave”, the task is not to master or control that structure, but to become aware of it and remain present within it without surrendering yourself to it.

Within the album, the song closes Movement B and brings the first half of the journey closer to its transition into Part II. It is another step away from the collapse that opened the album and deeper into the currents that continue beneath everything that changes, disappears or takes another form. The weave does not offer answers. It simply remains, and we move within it.
