Týr’s third album “Ragnarok” is another strong offering of progressive metal that expands on the sound of “Eric the Red”. The songs are more ambitious and progressive, but the band never loses the catchy melodies and heavy riffs that made their earlier material so enjoyable. Their Faroese influences and Viking themes are still present, but they feel natural rather than gimmicky.
