Biography

Old school Death Metal from Chile since 1988!

Sadism formed in Santiago, Chile in 1988, led by founding members Juan Pablo Donoso and Ricardo Roberts. Emerging during the rise of thrash and Death Metal in South America, the band quickly became a key name in the Chilean underground through raw demos and intense live performances.

Their debut album Tribulated Bells (1992) is considered a landmark in Chilean Death Metal, gaining cult status over the years. Throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s, Sadism built a steady discography and toured extensively across Latin America, sharing stages with bands like Kreator, Morbid Angel, Sodom, and Cannibal Corpse.

Albums like The Ocularis Domination (2014) and Alliance (2015) expanded their reach, leading to their first European tour and greater international recognition. In 2023, they released Obscurans, their tenth studio album, returning to their raw and direct Death Metal roots.

In 2025, Sadism unveils Necrology (1997-2002), a powerful reworking of their early classic tracks. Combining original audio with new recordings, it reclaims a crucial era in the band’s history while delivering their signature sound with renewed force.

More than three decades in, Sadism remains one of South America’s most enduring and uncompromising Death Metal bands.
